Tribes: Ascend

I played tribes AA for PS2 for like 4 years. Loved it. I also played Tribes 2 for a bit but nowhere near as much as AA. Everyone in the original community hates Ascend though, for obvious reasons. No one tries to produce unique games anymore, but all try to conform into the COD, Battlefield w.e the frig look so that every game looks alike. Such a shame, especially when it comes to a game that already has a community like tribes. Oh well, video games are also a business.

I played the original Starsiege Tribes (PC) for years until it finally died. I primarily played the Arena matches (single kill elimination) and dominated the shield/plasma combo.

Who developed it? Activision?

I miss the old Sierra games, they really made unique stuff that could not be found elsewhere.

i think ascend is awesome dunno why hateration? i mean yes somethings id def change but .. better than no tribes...

I played the first two, dominated most games as far as flag capping goes but 5150 was too hard for me. As much as I'd love to, I'd be putting recruiting/grad school finals at risk by accepting.

its pretty much the same game as it was before except now they have classes and perks.. i like the credits/orbital strike call downs n stuff

they shouldnt have attached the word tribes to it imo. it is more like a game that has similar features (jetpack, skiing, etc) than a sequel to the tribes family. its a flop and a lot of the vets already quit, esp when hi-rez wouldn't listen to any of the people that actually know tribes

what is bad about it specifically? Used to love / dominate T1 and T2.

Anybody here who used to play on Ghosty's Hideout server in T1 or the MV Miami Vehicles server in T2?

people complaining about aimbots and stuff,, havent seen too too many of it and im enjoying the game as a casual pick up and play and have fun kind of game. sure i wish i had more accessibiltiy to certain things.. in T2 i always would grab the bomber, drive it into the enemy base and hop out throw satchel charge n blow everything the fuck up ;D

The video game industry always does this bullshit. Remember RE4? Capcom had a beautiful storyline prior and then decided to turn a protagonist into a secret agent on a mission to save the president's daughter.....like wtf? Are you serious? Why not just turn the game into porno? At least it would be outright perversion.
