Undergraduate College Advice Needed

I have a cousin who is entering his senior year in high school. He is a little shy but he is very insightful. He wants to pursue a career in finance and he is very good with numbers. However, I often see him discouraged because of his cumulative gpa. My cousin has a 2.7 gpa and he feels he will never go to a school that will land him a good job because of it. I constantly have to remind him that he has a 29 on the ACT, an upward trend of gpa (freshman: 2.4, sophomore, 2.8, and junior 3.1), and he is a first generation student. I have some trouble finding colleges with good reputations and great academics that would accept him but still give him a advantage in the business world. I would like to come to him with some suggestions so he can do research. If anyone can type a couple colleges with great reputations that might accept his scores and credentials that would be greatly appreciated. For the sake of time exclude tuition cost, school size, etc because he will do research later on. Location does play a factor though and it would be best to have the majority of the colleges on the eastern side of the United States. Thank You

While giving exact colleges names would be easier to me, but it would limit your options, I advice to keep searching on youself, there's a number of websites that can help you with finding the right school, I advice you to check out prepscholar website and/or CollegeSimply.

states like NY and VA have good programs where community college students can transfer into Cornell and UVA respectively.
