Update on Arby's Boys
Hey Everyone,
You may remember me from earlier this year. I started the Arby's boys thread to ask for some advice on what to do about my boss' affinity for their horrible sandwhiches. You all were very helpful then, so I figured I'd give you all an update, and ask for some advice again.
I spent the next couple of months trying to eat the sandwiches, but truly could not by midsummer. I would get these horrible sweats from the roast beef sandwiches and found that my female coworkers were avoiding me. And no, I'm not ugly (think Zac Efron and Willhelm Dafoe had a child). I ended up leaving the firm for a top-tier business school (think Notre Dame, Stern, Wharton), even after getting a handsome bonus like many of you probably did (think 200-218k) for a 1st-year associate.
Anywho, what do you think the best post-business school route would be for someone who is 25? Any and all suggestions are appreciated! Also, feel free to ask some follow-ups to the Arby's boys thread.
With your education and experience I think you would be a perfect candidate for Arby's Franchisee
We have the meats.
Did MD give you the meats?
Hahaha also forgot to mention that I actually had sex for the first time in 6 months the day after I posted the Arby's boys post. Coincidence?
I truly believe that a man like you who attended a top 10 Bschool and looks like the blessing of a human that Dafoe truly is, you could aim for a prestigious exit on the buy side. I began my career at the top EB in NYC (think CVR/EVR) and am now in my second year at a top 5 PE firm in the world (think KKR), and I have never loved my life more. I make a lot of money for a 26 year old non-virgin (735K+), and am now entering the dating world looking for a swift fox to sweep me off my feet. The prestigious lifestyle isn't for the faint of heart but my current girlfriend looks like Jennifer Anniston and Blake Lively procreated a way hotter version fo Jennifer Lopez. I want you to join me at the top, and rise like a small phoneix from the Arbys ashes.
Honestly, if you could sneak an Arby's reference into your resume, anyone seeing that thread would hire you. Get creative...
OP - I suggest you exit Finance truthfully. I was tired of this lifestyle, and let me tell you why. After placing in the top .5% on the ACT (think 36), I attended one of the top super target schools (HYPSW). I easily placed to the buy side out of undergrad due to my heritage and magna cum laude grades. Skipping IB was easy for me, but I was still tired after 3 years at a top HF (C/P72). I am going back to school. I got into the top 10 business schools, and am chasing my passion of studying behavioral finance. Being at the top for so long got tiring. I am hairless from the eyebrows up, incredibly hairy from the eyesbrows down, have bad hygene, have never had a girlfriend, lose thousands on sports gambling a week, and know that my lifestyle is going to ruin me. Chase your passions, and know that a massive (almost $1mm) bonus is not worth being a virgin squid freak loser.
isnt super targets WHY, princeton and stanford arent exactly prestigious
lol
serious neckbeard vibes coming from his comment lol
Brother I feel for you. Years ago my MD berated me into picking out clothing for his felines. It hit me hard, and the realization that my only good skill after IB was furballs was not a good feeling. I'm glad to hear you are back in school. Top 10 Bschool is a financial challenge, and all I learned from mine (think H/S) was how to shoot below a 90 in golf. Therefore I suggest heading to Corp Fin. I'd be willing to wager half of my wife's love life that you are a man who likes to chill out, slam booze, and slam chicks being that you attended a school like Stern. Best of luck Marshy!
Did you really play that much golf during BSchool???!
I thought this was going to be about Hope Solo…
Somebody had to say it
100%, the right place for you is Corp Dev with Inspire Brands.
you can tell this is a troll post because stern was compared to wharton
Kids these days are so fucking weird. This is the type of stuff that is considered satire / humorous? There is no hope.
Thank you for the update on one of the best moments of WSO
I hear Arby's has a great corporate development program for post grads.
