Using Kindle/ipad for reading company and industry research
So I just got one of the Kindle's for $70 which is a bargain, but I was a little upset when I tried to convert some PDFs and throw them on there. As they didn't exactly show up. I'm a college student and I have to read a lot of shareholder reports, 10-ks, 10-qs, 8-qs, as well as cases and notes my profs put online. Pretty much everything I read is in pdf format and trying to read things off my iPhone or laptop (Dell latitude so it has a matte screen) is pretty difficult. The only thing I have an easy time reading off is the bloomberg terminal, a sheet of paper and the e-ink of kindle.
I was wondering what you guys or professionals use to read all these documents that have extensive graphs, charts, or other complex images within them. I am considering the ipad mini but I'm afraid the glossy screen might bother my eyes just as an iphone does. I really like to do reading in bed or for relaxing at the end of the day so bloomberg isn't convenient (located in my b-school).
Anyone have any suggestions or personal preferences they'd like to share?
don't convert the pdf. you can read pdf on kindle if the font isn't too small.
I'll have to double check and see if my kindle can support pdf files but I thought that it couldn't. I tried reading the mcdonalds 2011 annual and all the charts were completely messed up. Granted I did convert it to .mobi so i'll give it a try later
