Venture Card

I have been using AMEX Gold for awhile now, and had always been planning on upgrading to the platinum.

However some told me the Venture Card is better, because few businesses charge for it (not that the AMEX is a problem), it works overseas and has better miles (2 points!).

I love working with AMEX, but I'm willing to sacrifice a little glamor for "double miles" - has anyone used both Venture Card and AMEX travel cards?

If you are looking for the best points combinations, spend five minutes on creditcardforums(dot)com. Neither of those cards are even close to the max of points you could get.

Thanks for the tip. I suppose I am really close minded... for me it has always been go AMEX or go home, so apologies! :o

Platinum is the closest thing to a diploma in yuppiedom... but 2x miles... is better than even the good cash rewards toward airfare.

I get 2% on my Fidelity Amex card...

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

2x miles is on top of usually discounted airfare and perks (clarification) so will do better than 2% toward airfare from my experience
