Visa or Apple?

Apple is getting ready to release their new credit card in partnership with Goldman Sachs and Mastercard. The card will have no annual fee and a really nice integration with your apple wallet on your iPhone; The company hopes that you will pay via Apple Pay on your phone, but they will also issue sleek white credit card to users for merchants that do not accept Apple Pay. There are some incentives such as

cash-back rewards structure instead of points, offering users 1% on purchases made with the physical card, 2% for Apple Pay transactions and 3% for purchases of Apple products or services.

What do you think of the tech company furthering their finance portfolio? Do you think you'll sign up for the card?

I try to have a card with every financial institution rolling to keep that credit real robust but I've been boycotting Apple since I heard about them. So no. Fuck Apple.

Why do technology companies keep going through this stupid path of wanting to be highly regulated banking and finance companies? This has been tried dozens of times in at least 3 cycles in the past that I can think of, it never works.

Aside from thinking this is a flailing grasp by a completely company that is completely devoid of innovation, if anyone actually thinks this will be any more transparent or private than existing solutions you better sell your Apple stock now.

Big Apple fan and big credit card user, but this credit card doesn't make any sense.
