My dad’s job is defense contractor consulting for the Pentagon. His team is basically the Army guys who were across the table from Jonah Hill’s character. The firm was actually recently acquired by a family office. He has cool stories from his time in the Middle East but the job is mostly policy writing plus a class he teaches on defense contracting.

There are some aerospace and defense IB teams in NoVa, like HL in Tysons. You will see a lot of Georgetown, UVA, and W&M grads working in finance in the DMV.

Would personally love to cover defense or cyber. My fund has invested in some cyber but we aren’t focused on it. In-Q-Tel, Black Opal, and Nightdragon are huge in defense / cyber which would be a dream. Really admire some of those portfolios.
