Was Mitt Romney the Mark Zuckerberg of his day?
Koch suggested to join a fast growing company to build real wealth where it's now impossible to do since finance is a mature industry. Mitt Romney founded Bain Capital when finance was still immature and that's how he amassed his wealth in finance, whereas you don't see that sort of wealth creation in finance today. Is tech now at the point where finance was in the 80's?
I'm guessing people in the 80's were saying finance was immature in the 50's?
considering Zuckerburg was worth more at age 23 than Mitt Romney has at any point in his life, I would say no.
waatttt?
It was really almost nothing like FB, as that was just some guy who made a little thing and then it became popular and he ran with it. He ended up being quite skilled, but their paths were nothing alike. Honestly, some people may not like to hear it, but FB was more the product of luck than anything else. There were piles of social media sites and FB was not objectively better than many alternatives. Zuckerberg had skill, but he needed a great deal of luck to ever have a chance to shine. Romney pretty much positioned himself in a way that assured his brilliance would be put to good use.
There is absolutely potential for something like what Romney did at Bain. But yes, founding a whole new industry is usually more profitable than rising up in something that already exists.

The cognitive dissonance here is fucking hilarious
I can't believe that dude was almost president. I would have voted for him too were I a voter.
