Another instance where being a hippie is not just idiotic, but actually dangerous to your health.
As I get older, I'm starting to rethink this idea that freedom is good when we have this many idiots in our midst. Dicktator Fuld would not allow for parents to skip on vaccinations for their kids.

Frankly, I don't even understand how stuff like this and homeopathic medicine gain traction. Is it just people so desperate they're willing to believe in something, anything?

Office assistant overheard, and was furious. She is very anti-vax (and anti-gluten, but thats another story).
I probably would have been fired if we had an HR dept. My opinion is a little rough around the edges.
Anti-vaxxers always seem to be the sort of people who feel like they should be getting more in life and it's some conspiracy of unfairness that they don't.
I'm not sure how that lines up with kids of wealthy parents in LA, though.
People forget how many people died because of small pox before we had a vaccination. It amazes me how dumb people are. And this transcends their own stupidity. This anti vaccination movement endangers all of us.
I haven't encountered one of these people yet, but I'll voice my opinion if I do.
Likely that will be preaching to the unconvertible.
On the other hand, I've had intelligent discussions on wide ranging topics with doctors socially, then, if/when the topic of measles or vaccinations came up, dropped some trolling anti-vaxxer comment to provoke disbelief and occasional tirades. That's more fun.
