Weird to Message Current Analyst?

Recently accepted a FT credit analyst offer with a BB and will be starting in 2020. Would it be weird to linkedin message a current analyst at the bank to ask what they do on a daily basis + best groups + bonuses? Thanks in advance.

I wondered this recently...different sector applies to me, etc. etc. but usually the rule of thumb is you don't want to reach out to ask specific questions until getting to know the person (at least over LinkedIn). If you're from the area you're going to be working, most people on LinkedIn will be open to grabbing a cup of coffee, which you have to pay for, and you can ask them specifics there. If this post didn't already attract a person that can help you, I suggest creating a non-specific post requesting information from previous analysts with that specific BB, leaving out any identifying information. Often times someone in the WSO community will reach out to you and you can find out more info through them with a DM. This happened to me - people are very nice on this site and generally want to help out!

Agreed, nothing wrong with reaching out, but asking a stranger on the internet about comp is quite forward.

Then again, I know a dude who added an analyst to ask if the Bank drug tests. Soo yeah. Trust your gut.
