Well, looks like were going to Syria boys

Looks like were sending in spec war guys to Syria for god knows what reasons.

I can see why this would be a good strategic move - take out a douche bag, deprive Iran of one of its major partners in arming terrorists abroad as well as one of its trade partners and money launderers, and pushing the oil prices higher by adding us to the conflict where Iranian snipers and troops are apparently on the ground.

Still, Im not sure that in principle, helping these rebels is worth one Seals life. Al Qaeda is helping train the rebels in suicide bombings for gods sake (no pun intended). Do we have a good understanding of what an opposition political force would be like? Is it possible that this could be a preface to invading Iran? Will Europe get in on this shit?

Syria's problems with violent, sectarian rebels are their own. Let their military sort it out. No Western country should intervene and they should all stop being so hypocritical. I havn't seen condemnation of Qatar, Bahrain or Saudi Arabia yet? The Sunni vs Shi'a battle has gone on for thousands of years and this is just the modern version.

Should the Ottoman Empire have invaded, placed sanctions on and condemned the US during the American Civil War? That's basically what is happening in reverse here (Ottoman reference is the closest I could get even though I know it isn't really accurate).

Interesting points, but would it have been so bad to have gone in to Cambodia when pol pot killed 1/5 of the country?
