While we are all on work from home status while everything is going on, what is the protocol on traveling? Say if i want to work from my parents house for a few weeks (out of state) or if i want to visit my significant other (out of country) do i have to ask my boss for permission? We aren't even going to be back in the office for a few months.

nope, where you are isn't up to them, but ensuring your work is done is. You're not on house arrest and you don't need to tell them where you live
it you show up for you normal work hours and do your work why would this be an issue?
Out of state would be fine, out of country could potentially be an issue for IT/security reasons. Might want to get that one cleared ahead of time.
Has anyone else to your knowledge traveled within your group? Its likely a non issue.
