What are financial jobs like outside of IB/PE/HF/AM/S&T/ER/Corporate?

Are there any well-paying jobs outside of the typical jobs that are listed on this forum? I assume that most people outside these jobs get middle-class income for most of their careers?

I've seen so many people talk about stuff like on different financial career forums (like Reddit has an r/FinancialCareers)

-Budget Analysts
-Credit Underwriting
-Strategic Financial Analyst
-Insurance Analysts
-International Trade and Commodities
-FP&A
-Strategical Finance
-Loan Officer
-Pension Wealth Manager
-Credit Risk
-Commercial Account Manager

These are a couple of the roles I see talked about
Are these types of roles mostly

Most of those would fall into either corporate functions or part of commercial banking - I know a guy who does FP&A for small companies in Texas and is making $65k base + bonus at 2 years out of undergrad.

Keep in mind, high finance is a small piece of the overall finance landscape, with entry level comp that is more than mid-level and even senior managers at many companies ever hope to see.

The reality is there's far less sex appeal in being a credit underwriter than in working in high finance.. Ergo, people will talk about it less on the internet.

Plenty of folks make fine careers out of small town commercial banking gigs, non-sexy corporate finance gigs, mass affluent wealth management/financial advisory, etc etc. Those gigs, for the most part, don't particularly appeal to the audience of this site.
