What are you giving up for lent?

When I give up things for Lent, I don't take that lightly. I'm giving it up for God, I'm not going to just "cave" after a day or even after a while. I once gave up using the internet for Lent, and it was hard, yeah. However, it's so fulfilling to know that I have the self-control to give up things that are a big part of my life.

Over the past few years I've tried to incorporate something extra into my life opposed to giving something up during Lent. Being a college student who has admittedly been way too distant with his family over the last year or so, I decided this year to stay in better contact with them. Specifically actually having a conversation with at least one person in my family each day, even if it's just a simple text.

I did last year. Bad idea. I was so pissed off the entire time, I am lucky i didn't end up in jail.

When you are great, people will often mistake candor for arrogance.
