What companies have the worst career portal application interface ever?

I swear some of these companies are running in the early 2000's with their terribly formatted and cumbersome application processes. Like seriously, if your company is making a good amount of money, at least use Glassdoor or Linkedin.

A notable example is Greenhill which requires my driver's license's lmao, and an extensive amount of detail about the companies I've worked for including company phone numbers, supervisor's, and #'s of references. If you want to apply for another position, they also don't save your information so have fun spending 10+ minutes redoing everything.

Honorable Mentions: Anything Taleo and Fifth Third

Aerospace for sure.

They have you write down a shit ton of facts from years ago (forget any kind of linkedIn transfers or even pulling from your resume), and they don't even have an automatic process to verify it! It takes over a year and they go to your family and even high school friends just to get a bunch of irrelevant info to see if you're up to their standards.

Accenture's is pretty terrible. Have had to create multiple accounts because their "forgot username/password" features don't work (one among a handful of pain points). Ironically, they're well-known for the front/backend development work that they do for their clients..

One thing to remember is that a lot of these are INTENTIONALLY cumbersome. It makes sense to the prospective employee to spam every position at every employer that might both hire them and be an upgrade from where they are now. Because of this, HR has an incentive to make applying cumbersome in order to limit the number of "junk" applicants who have no shot at the job, or are just looking to see if they can find another employer willing to pay more for the same position.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Anything done by Taleo. The faster that company goes bankrupt, the better.

As a College Senior, being someone who has been applying left and right lately; i have a few mentions. Here's the list (Worst of the Worst) 1. SMBC (Japanese Bank) 2. TIAA bank (nothing works!) 3. DB (they suck at everything nowadays) 4. Taleo systems (HSBC's tales is a notorious one, I applied for several IB Analyst roles and guess what a few days later, I logged in and those roles were changed into some VP of MO/BO type roles, not sure how this happened, but I had the email confirmation with the job IDs applied, clearly stating the roles I applied to were IB Analyst roles) 5. Workday (has too many technical bugs. LinkedIN data import doesn't work half the time, and also I never get their account creation emails on gmail, I always have to use an outlook address).

BEST - I've found LinkedIn's EasyApply to be the best by far. System works smoothly every single time. Also convenient how LinkedIn lets us know that the application was viewed. It's remarkable how the same job will take just 2 minutes to apply to with LinkedIn but can be like a 20 minute process with Taleo.

"buggylovesfinance" CBRE's is pretty horrible.

CBRE, Cushman, and JLL all use the same system. HFF's is pretty good though.
