Everyone in my extended family goes to my parents’ house. Been like this for 20+ years as my parents have a large house and it’s in the middle of all of my extended family. Over the last five years or so, some more distant relatives have started coming from other states.

Sometimes family and family friends will fly in from other countries - it’s not uncommon for me to see up to 10 people who I’ve never met before, and it’ll either be some distant relative I hadn’t seen since I was little so I don’t remember, or it’ll be a family friend I’ve never met.

We get food catered - same thing happens at Christmas too. Been the same exact process for both holidays my whole life with the only changes being people / pets dying.

Nope we get Cracker Barrel catered. Other stuff from Costco and then some ethnic food from where my people come from. Same stuff every year. Can’t forget the Chick-fil-A nugget tray either

Lol we have lots of people too but nobody drinks so it’s just eating for 10 hours

Just my parents, they're getting older now and need more help around the house, plus all my high school friends in the area moved away.

Hang with family and break out the NES from 1985. The original NES broke so we use an emulator now and hammer on 8 bit video games while we watch football, check door buster deals, and so forth before the Turkey feast around 3pm.

As always, we're going to have Thanksgiving dinner the traditional New England way that we've done since my maternal great-grandmother ran the family many years ago. My mum and I will be cooking together like we do each year, from the turkey to the potatoes to the stuffing to the creamed onions and all else being prepared under our supervision. However, this year's feast is going to be either very special or possibly very sad, as my paternal grandmother, the matriarch of the family and my last living elderly relative, is battling health declines and may (or may not, God forbid) be alive for Thanksgiving, highly doubtful for Christmas. For those who know me well, it is no secret that my grandmother is a very important part of my life, and to be forced to carry the burden of worry regarding her declining health is especially stressful on my father and I.

Thankfully, there is a higher possibility of her making it to Thanksgiving than some people have thought, as she (like my grandfather who passed on 12/26/2020 and made it through Christmas in the hospital) is one of the strongest people I know on this earth. I've prayed repeatedly that she will make through Thanksgiving at the very least, and at the moment standing now, there is a good chance that she will.

For all of you monkeys that are spending the holiday with your families, make sure you give your mother and father, and all other close relatives, the love that they deserve. I've learned that we never get a guaranteed chance to say goodbye to those we love and hold dearest, so I give this advice to all of you.

I wish you all a happy and blessed Thanksgiving. May God bless you all.
