What is the position Principal
I've been seeing this one a lot when looking for bankers to contact, especially on Bloomberg. What does the position "Principal" mean?

^^ what he said. In a private firm, it means you are an owner, but not on the same level of the partners. If ranks were credit ratings it'd be Aa1/AA+ best way I can think to explain it.
So then what about Managing Partners. Are they the same/similar?
