What Should a Young Man's "Process" Look Like?

After watching the Saban documentary, I've been thinking about what a young man's process looks like. Obviously very different from athletes as they have completely different goals. Maybe this is the wrong place for this question but seemed fitting since I'm in the industry and curious to hear peers perspectives.

Main question I'm asking: What is the "process" meant to ouput? To strive to have a better character, more interesting person, self-achievement - what else would you say a young man's process should look like / goals to set that a certain "process" or "journey" would be needed to achieve?

Obviously, each of these things are meant to be broken down more to understand what you actually have to do for each to have a better outcome. I've read forums and spoken with friends and the consensus around getting better is: 10K steps a day, workout 2-3x times a week, eat healthy foods, etc - is this really "the" way to becoming better? I feel like these examples are very simple and yes, do provide long-term benefits, but seem a little over-stated.

Curious to hear any other perspectives and any extrapolated ideas/commentary.
