What should I do for my freshman year summer?

I am currently a freshman that is attending a non target school. I am in one of my schools finance clubs and had to interview and learn a good amount to get in. I have some of the basics down and was wondering what I could do for my freshman summer. I have been emailing small wealth management firms around my hometown for an internship but none of them have replied back and the ones that do said that they didn’t have an internship spot open.

I’m basically just wondering what the best thing I could do this summer would be that would put me in a good spot for recruiting next year. Some other things I was thinking that I could do if I can’t get an internship would be to caddy or work at Home Depot.

Also how could I get an internship for this summer as a freshman also would it really help me with my recruiting next year?
