What song(s) do you want played at your funeral?

It is my belief that everyone (irrespective of age) should have a roster of songs in writing (among other financial wills), should their existence be cut short unexpectedly (or expectedly). I pick my iTunes playlist when I'm alive, and I expect no different on the other side. Nothing worse than Leonard Cohen's "hallelujah" blasting at your funeral. Sorry, but Shrek comes to mind.

Never forget that your time is objectively limited, while your money/wealth is subjectively limited.

Some of mine (in no particular order):

M83 - Outro Schubert - Ave Maria Hans Zimmer - Time Zach Hemsey - The Way (Instrumental) Ludovico Einaudi - Fly

Post yours below -- it could help others add to their list.

I don't want a funeral. I know they're super common, but if you put aside that it's a social norm, it's fucking weird self-centered shit to me. When I die, toss my body in a river and move on with your lives.

It's for the people who care about you that you left behind.

For people attending, funerals/memorials provide some closure, and it's nice to see that you're not alone, and others share your feelings of loss. If someone looks especially perturbed you can look after them. It feels good to share stories about all the memorable times you had with them, and interesting to see how others perceived them.

My experiences may be different, but I haven't been to one that was self-centered at all. It's always the people affected by the death that want it.

Maybe things will change by the time you die in 500 or whatever years.

It's some of that. But how come when you go to a graveyard, you see miniature castles people have erected in their own honor before they even died?
