What will the world be like in 1960?

A bunch of illustrations done in 1910 by French artist Villemard depict his predictions of the world in 2000. It got me thinking about what the future entails, especially considering the accuracy of Villemard's work.

About half of them were quite accurate. A few examples of my personal favorites below:

  • Hair salons
  • Flying as a primary mean of individual travel, complete with flying policemen to regulate traffic
  • Flying dude grabbing a bottle of wine for the road
  • Schoolchildren listening to audiobooks

So what will the world be like in 2060? Will we be colonizing Mars? What will be our main method of transportation? Energy?

Will education move to the worldwide web?

World war III?

So many questions. Most importantly, will Spongebob still be running?
