Where to rent non-exotic luxury cars?

Because I have 2 kids, I own a SUV, a honda CR-V to be completely honest, and I'll soon be going on vacation without the kids and will need to do a good bit of driving. This is my opportunity to drive something nice for a change and I'd really like to get behind the wheel of something like a BMW M5 or 7 series, Merc S class, Jag XJ. Problem is if you go through the regular car rental places like Enterprise, Avis, etc your options are the pedestrian sedans i.e. corolla, camry, ford fusions, chevy aveo they have a few American muscle cars, but I'm not really interested in those. If you go through Gotham your options are exotics like Lambos, Ferarris, Rolls Royce Phantom, etc which is a little too flashy for what I'm planning. So my question is, where can I rent the cars I'm looking for? If anyone knows the answer to this, surely it would be one of you wall streeters.

Your best bet is talking to a dealer. There are a ton cars like the ones which interest you that can certainly be negotiated over. Be prepared to negotiate hard and leave yourself wide open to an ass rape premium if you so much as scratch a fingernail's worth of paint off the car, but other than that your options will be plentiful. Naturally, it really helps if you have a local friendly civic minded BMW/Merc/Jag dealership near your home.

Thanks guys. Just looked up the Aston Martin Vantage and it says trasmission is "automated manual". WTF does that mean?

IlliniProgrammerIf it includes Mercedes, BMW, or Buick/Cadillac, Zipcar is your friend. Think they rent for ~$20/hour, $200/day after tax. I don't think they have Lexus. PM me if you want an invite with $25 driving credit.

Very much appreciated. Thanks. But do they have the zipcar logo on them? That just looks so awful.
