Who else loves vintage cars?

I love old cars. I've owned a couple '60s Mustang Convertibles, an Alfa Romeo Spider and currently have a couple '70s Mercedes. What these cars lack in modern conveniences (Bluetooth, GPS, etc.), they more than make up for in driving experience and fun.

So, inspired by binge-watching Wheeler Dealers and Barrett-Jackson car auctions and fueled by a case of Anchor Steam, my buddy and I had a lively debate the other night about the best "affordable" vintage cars we'd like to own. Of course, all car nuts would love to own a Ferrari 265, Mercedes 300SL gull wing or maybe an Aston Martin DB2, but very few of us have a means to invest seven figures (sometimes eight) into a car. Plus, I'd be terrified to ever drive a car that valuable...so why own it if you can't/won't drive it?

Here's your challenge. What are the top cars you'd love to own one day, either as a daily driver or weekend plaything? Caveats are that (1) it has to be 20+ years old and (2) can't cost more than $25k to acquire based on current market prices. Here's my (partial) list:

  1. Porsche 928S4 ('88-'91)
  2. Porsche 944 Turbo ('88-'91)
  3. Mercedes 450 SEL ('78-'79)
  4. BMW 635csi ('87-'88)
  5. BMW M3 E30 ('90-'91)
  6. BMW 840/850 ('89-'96)
  7. Jeep Grand Wagoneer ('88-'91)
  8. Datsun 240Z ('70-'73)
  9. Triumph TR6 ('69-'76)
  10. Ford Mustang 289 Convertible ('65-'66)

So monkeys, what would you fill your garage with?
