Why couldn’t Warner Bro’s and DC just stop making batman movies after the Dark Knight trilogy?

That trilogy is legendary. Why couldn’t they just stop at that? Is it just a cash cow for them? It’s like Marvel, they had such a good Spider-Man trilogy but no, they had to make Amazing Spider-Man. And why are people so gullible that they still go and watch these shitshows? Because maybe they’d stop making them if there wasn’t a market for them.

They wouldn't see any reason not to keep milking the franchises as much as they can, and perhaps they don't view the average young adult superhero movie fan as being particularly discerning so they just churn out whatever they can come up with.

The last few X Men movies stand out as being especially abysmal. Was quite symbolic that Dark Phoenix ended with a literal trainwreck.

That's putting it lightly.

I'm sure there were a lot of people that were skeptic of making a follow-up of the George Clooney Batman-movies as well. We would miss out on so many good movies if the studios didn't continue franchises like that. Also, it makes them a ton of money that can finance new franchises.

I don't know... Yeah. Almost definitely yes.

You asking this on a finance forum is a bit hilarious.

I hate being that person but I feel the same about the Spider-Man trilogy with Tobey McGuire, it just couldn't be remade with Andrew Garfield and whatever that new one is. But it's not like something that keeps me up at night like all the die hard comic book fans.
