Oxford/LSE are easier to get into. Just like, study? Going to Wharton lets you recruit into the most extensive buyside network in the world too.
Also just generally US people tend to care more about pedigree than British people. I've had a range of CVs end up on my desk to review after HR has filtered them and maybe 6-7 out of 20 a time are from so-called UK targets.
The example you give is about a show that mentions Harvard about 5x an episode lol and is the only school the firm will hire from.
Wharton is the only business school in the US that's a household name. (Not including business schools that have the same name as the university they are part of ie HBS)
Don't know why this is downvoted. He's right.
Look at the alumni list. You go to Wharton and you could be an Elon Musk or a Donald Trump.
Not sure how Wharton relates to Elon Musk - he is somewhat against the value of formal education and is more on the side of relevant experience.
Yes, thats true. But he’s an alumni of Wharton. Class of ‘97
Musk didn't go to Wharton, he transferred to UPenn 2 years deep and got a degree in econ.
