Oxford/LSE are easier to get into. Just like, study? Going to Wharton lets you recruit into the most extensive buyside network in the world too.

Also just generally US people tend to care more about pedigree than British people. I've had a range of CVs end up on my desk to review after HR has filtered them and maybe 6-7 out of 20 a time are from so-called UK targets.

Wharton is the only business school in the US that's a household name. (Not including business schools that have the same name as the university they are part of ie HBS)

Not sure how Wharton relates to Elon Musk - he is somewhat against the value of formal education and is more on the side of relevant experience.

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

Musk didn't go to Wharton, he transferred to UPenn 2 years deep and got a degree in econ.

"The obedient always think of themselves as virtuous rather than cowardly" - Robert A. Wilson | "If you don't have any enemies in life you have never stood up for anything" - Winston Churchill | "It's a testament to the sheer belligerence of the profession that people would rather argue about the 'risk-adjusted returns' of using inferior tooth cleaning methods." - kellycriterion
