Why do we care so much about other peoples opinions

I get it, social pressure jada jada

but can we not care? at least not what a complete stranger thinks of us? I get that we should care what our family and close friends think of us, or should we?

being dating (on tinder) the past few weeks I have noticed the less shit I give about what my date thinks about me, the higher the chances are I get to get my Johnson wet the same night

is it because I am way more cool that way or is it because I just exude confidence out of my pores when I don't care

but then I think about my diet and training and I realise that I actually do care about what other people think. but do I actually care about what they think about my body or do I only care about them noticing how good I look (when im shredded, or approaching my ultimate shreddedness)

don't know

what do you think? (don't care tbh btw, but still interested)

I only care if it related to me going against my values apart from that I do not give a monkeys.

This all over the place, I just wrote my stream of consciousness.

In my experience- the more I'm doing things to better myself, especially when I'm doing them for myself, the less I care about what others think. Of course when you're getting shredded you're thinking how good you look and how easy it'll be now to wheel that hot broad at the beach. But you should also be feeling how much better your body feels, how much you've leveled up from a physical standpoint compared to your past self, how much healthier and better looking your body is in general.

When you achieve a certain level of success, you also stop caring about what others think. If you're shredded, do you really care if some fatty scoffs at you and says that how you're living your life is wrong? No. If you're rich do you care if someone says you should be doing xyz instead? No.

Actually the above made me think of this- when we're not aligned with our true selves, pursuing our true desires, we care about what others think of us. I think that's actually the best way to think about it. Think about a ski bum or a guy who just surfs every day in cali. There's guys on wso who would say that guys a loser bc he didn't go to HYP => IB, he's never going to be able to afford a nice house, etc. But that guy wouldn't give a shit, he's living the dream in his eyes. He's doing exactly what he wants to do each day and feels fulfilled.

At the end of the day, there's always going to be someone who doesn't agree with you so you might as well do what makes you happy.

On the girls front: I truly think it's easiest to pull when you're just focused on having a good time. Sure you can't be a p*ssy and have to close when the time comes, but if you're just focused on dancing and laughing and being an idiot, then at the end of the night you'll have had a good night no matter what and I feel like I close in most of those situations compared to the nights when I'm focused on closing.

Caring about what other people think has always been an issue but now it is magnified by the constant use of social media.  Facebook is guilty of making this worse but other forms of social media magnify these issues as well, including WSO. I am sure they are some people here who are concerned about MS and silver bananas. No one is completely immune to it. How you manage it is the key.  For me, I start with the mind set that I do not know anyone personally on this site, so why would I care about what someone thinks. Also, someone trashing me verbally on WSO is not going to affect my life. People who trash others are doing it out of insecurities, at least that is the the way that I think about it.

In general, If I think criticism is justified, I might try to learn from it.  If I think criticism is not justified, I just file it under you are a fucking insecure moron category.
