Why is Kings College not a target?
I have doing some research on target universities and kings college is seen as a semi target/non target.
Why is this?
It is higher than Edinburgh, Lse, Warwick, Bristol, Bath, Nottingham. It is ranked fifth in uk after oxbridge, imperial and Lse. Furthermore it is 16th in the world.
What dont banks like about it?
Semi target ish
Their econ (and management) and maths departments are as well recognised as other universities. They also don't have a dedicated business school.
Also where is it higher than LSE, Warwick, Edinburgh or ranked 5th?

QS rankings mean shit all for banks EMEA. Its UK rankings are average.
No, I don't think I've seen Master students from Kings at 'a top BB'.
Nobody cares about these rankings like QS, FT, etc. Just when looking around in my analyst class, I always see the same universities being represented, regardless if they are #1 or #15 in a stupid ranking. There are some major feeders in Europe including Oxbridge, LSE, LBS, HEC, etc. and that hasn't changed in recent history.

generally speaking, king's doesn't rank in the top 10% for most lists QS ranking by my observations are a little bit of a joke (UCL > Princeton/Yale, UManchester > Northwestern/Brown, UToronto > UTokyo, other foreign universities)
however, i think what other users have mentioned is the most salient point: KCL doesn't have a dedicated business school, so that may be a problem
despite all that, i think if one graduates with an anticipated first honors from KCL, one shouldn't have a problem at least getting interviews (assuming networking has been done)

you can do it! if you are in the UK, remember to also apply in hong kong and singapore, as they have a large number of UK alum

Not a target at all, it's a kinda like a mid-tier semitarget (also note that here in the UK basically every uni which is not completely shitty is a semi-target). KCL is not renowned for maths though and I also doubt either ugrads or grads would represent a fair numbers at banks. If you are doing a masters, make it worthwhile, and try getting into a target.
