Why the hate for linkedin news posts?

You know those news pieces they have on your feed? The ones that say stuff like "5 tips to getting your next job" , "How to stand out as an employee" , "Is company X on the wrong path?" etc.

Why do users on WSO call them garbage? Are they really that bad? What's the worst on you remember reading?

Yea, they generally suck. You can tell by clicking on them and reading.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

It is the most annoying drivel ever. I sometimes read them, just to see if someone actually has hidden some real gem of advice somewhere in the abysmal list of conventional "wisdom" that these self purported career gurus usually throw around as if they are so innovative in their hiring policies.

People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for freedom of thought which they seldom use.

I love LinkedIn, but it has gone off the deep end recently. The only thing that sucks more than those bullshit articles is when people post it on WSO.

If LinkedIn wants to give me professional info, how about at least tailor it to my career. They have all the keywords from my recommendations, skills, job description, and the fact that the bulk of my contacts are in ONE industry. If they actually made an effort, it would be one thing, but getting posts of "How to write a resume, by some unemployed blogger" is just a waste of my time.

Get busy living

They are the absolute worst and cheapen LinkedIn, in my view.

The idea that things as complicated as promotions, leadership, excelling at a career, building a business, etc. can be distilled into a three bullet point list is laughably stupid. It's a bunch of click bait garbage written by clowns to be consumed by clowns that think reading lists on professional development will somehow lead to professional development.

And, frankly, the posts by guys like Richard Branson aren't all that much better. It's more of the same crap, just with a fancy name at the top.
