Will inflation die in a decade?

Reading the Intelligent Investor has restarted my thoughts on inflation in our life times. What do you guys think? Our goods are so much more durable now and we may all have Elon's solar roof on our houses in a few years to further drive down our reoccurring bills. Will CPI growth forever be dependent on housing market booms and continually increasing education costs?

housing (shelter), Energy, and seasonal food are excluded from the personal consumption expenditure (PCE) which is reported as the 'CPI' today. The government switched from Core CPI to the personal consumption expenditure (PCE)... right around a certain QE start in 2012. The personal consumption expenditure (PCE) and Core CPI are re-based every 2 yrs... so as not to alarm people about the loss in PPP of their dollar.

interesting how the government manipulate a lot of economic indicators now days, mostly developed countries. In Australia if you work an hour every two weeks, you are considered employed. Imagine if the governments of the developed nations of the world turned around and tightened their employment requirements, there would be mass hysteria since unemployment levels would be near Great depression levels
