Working remote to help take care of my dad post cancer treatment

Hi all,

I just started my job, based in NYC, a couple of months ago and I was informed my dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer my first week on the job.

His treatment is on Dec.15th and my mom hinted at me coming home (to the midwest) to help take care of him. I want to go back home, but we are in the office most days and I don't want to look bad being an analyst working remotely when everyone else is in the office.

December is our busiest month as well.

I feel bad even questioning myself on this.
