After being incensed at the fact someone would think Nicolas Cage doesn’t suck, I began to ruminate on what other terrible actors seem to have splendidly long careers in Hollywood. And there are many:
- I saw Blade recently, no talent to be found in the entire movie
- Tracey Morgan - one somewhat, situationally, funny role on 30 Rock and he gets a career? What?
- Emma Watson.
- Macaulay Culkin - lifetimes of suck compressed into one career
Who are some people you hate seeing on screen?
Channing Tatum is pretty terrible. As soon as he ages out of his looks it'll be over.
His movies are bad enough that he flies completely under my radar. I watch nothing he's in
Terrible actor but has extreme charisma and kills roles tailored towards him (21 Jump Street, Hateful 8, Kimgsman etc).
Kevin Costner
Oh yeah shit, Kevin is quite bad isn't he? Didn't cross my mind initially.
Do you think Dances with Wolves, JFK, or Field of Dreams were his peak and the rest was just bad?
Jack Black is pretty rough
Wait, wut. Jack Black is no Daniel Day-Lewis, but he definitely play his roles pretty well.
No your right, he’s just not “prestigious” like Daniel Day Lewis or Jack Nicholson
George Clooney has all the acting depth and talent of Seth Rogan or Chris Farley.
Watch Up in the Air, Michael Clayton, The Descendants etc.
Those were all nominated for Best Picture, I would say Good Night and Good Luck is another good one he actually was in and directed
Yeah that's a heavy disagree from me. I think he's a decent actor at least. I'm a big fan of The Peacemaker, and the Oceans movies were watchable thanks in part to him IMO. Up in the Air was great, Michael Clayton is probably my favorite Clooney movie, and The American - really recommend this movie if you're into the action / noir / European thing.
Just watch Burn After Reading and see him shoot Brad Pitt in the face.
These are two different things. I think Keanu Reeves is pretty bad. But, his acting style is hilarious. That monotone voice like he's half stoned all the time is just so endearing.
I don't hate seeing him on screen - I like his movies. But, acting abilities? Yeah not too great.

he was terrible in Dracula, but the guy is a saint of a human. And Point Break was amazing.
