Worth It To Buy a New iPhone?

Apple had an event yesterday in Cupertino where they announced the release of several new phones. Overall, while there were some slight improvements, I haven’t bought a new phone since getting an iPhone 7. The high price tag and mostly unimpressive performance upgrades have prevented me from buying anything new. Does anyone else feel the same way? While I’m sure the new phones and watch will perform well as they always do, is anyone else uninterested in buying one of these new products?

Yeah, I recently switched from iPhone to Android and got an S9. Honestly, the amount of customization that you can do with an Android device blows Apple out of the water.

All Apple has done is announce bigger screens and better cameras. Yawn.

I have a 6S still. Time for an upgrade. I'd switch from Apple, but I'm thinking of getting my Mac Book back into the mix, I have group chats on iMessage, and it's generally worked well for me having an iPhone, enough where I don't see the point in switching.

Not a huge fan of their facial recognition tech after learning of what China is doing with tech to surveil people. But, I'm willing to stay with Apple as it used to be a BAD move to switch to completely dysfunctional phones (Android), and I don't feel the need to switch from Apple.

You are scared of Apple's built in facial recognition but I'll bet you have a picture of your face uploaded to linkedin with your entire professional career in the open for anyone to read.

First people put their entire life on the internet, but only after reading about some obscure chinese facial recognition tech (that does not yet work btw), do they get scared. Haha!

Isn't the whole concept of personal privacy a modern conception? I can imagine that in a small village everyone would find out about anything you want to hold a secret.

I got X a while ago and while there is no point for me to upgrade to Xs, X was the single best consumer electronics piece I have ever bought. The phone is flawless and works perfectly.

Don't listen to Android fanboys. If you (like myself) don't give a shit about being able to customize gallery with 16 different themes, get an X. It's possibly the best and most user-friendly phone that has ever been created.

I just don't understand how anyone can think software made by an ad company to harvest your data will be comparable in user experience to software made by an actual computer company. I've had 3 Android phones and despite them being insanely capable pieces of hardware, the Android OS is just trash compared to even the blandness of iOS. I couldn't even log in to Spotify on my Pixel due to an issue with Facebook integration. I remember feeling how I basically threw $650 in the trash.

Thinking i'll go with a X too. I hear the X outlasted the Xs in battery comparison.

The iOS is flawless. Everything that requires a seamless link between hardware and software just works without question better than any OS enabled device. To me, it's not even close.

Samsung likes to throw a bunch of fancy bells and whistle on to their devices but they never work well. Personally, I don't have the patience and would throw my phone right in the trash if it starts acting buggy.

Plus, Apple builds privacy and security in their phones right off the gate. Don't have to be too worried about security breaches. Can watch all the free porn you want.
