WTF is going on in Chicago?

We know that crime nationwide has gone up since the Floyd riots of 2020. And liberal DAs and policies on crime have exacerbated this.

This past weekend in Chicago, thugs from South Side went wild, causing mayhem & violence. WTF is going on? It will only get worse due to Johnson's weak on crime policies. And why is a certain demographic disproportionately responsible for these crimes? Is there a cultural problem?

Races aren't monolithic. As someone in that twitter thread said, "there is a certain sect of American blacks in our country that do most of the crime and cause most of the crime we see everywhere. They are the least educated, most troublesome, and pure degenerates that can not be rehabilitated. these people within EVERY race but this specific group is the most problematic (based on statistics). However, b/c our society is so obsessed with race, especially race relations of the past, this group is cloaked by the entire American black race when they shouldn’t be & they are lumped in with the rest of the American blacks, when they shouldn’t be. American media sensationalizes their behaviors & portray them to be representative of the entire race of people when they are truly a small fraction of the race, who the race itself detests."

This is not a racist comment, rather the hard truth.

Blaming liberal prosecutors for the spike in crimes is disingenuous and inaccurate

Funniest

You are right. There are a lot of other liberals to blame too.

So glad I finally moved away from that city. Absolutely gorgeous in the summers, and I did enjoy many aspects of living in Chicago, but the crime and seemingly lack of acknowledgment and progress by the elected officials to solve the issue was appalling.

My fiancé was groped at a grocery store right around the corner from our apartment. Attacked in the lobby of our apartment (by a fellow resident actually) for not having a mask on when she was just running down to get our dog from a sitter after a trip - this woman called her names, spit on her (yes, moved her mask from her face to spit on her) and filmed her trying to get a reaction (most likely wanting my fiancé to say something racist.) I wasn’t with her, but I immediately went down to the lobby after she got back to our unit and that woman was pinned to the floor by another resident she had physically assaulted lmao - fucking wacko. An Uber driver was car jacked right out front of our building. This apartment was a luxury building in the South Loop, and many other friends we had in the city mentioned that crime had gotten progressively worse in their areas (West Loop, River North, etc.)

Now down in Tampa. Pros and cons with the move, but no longer getting spammed with CITIZEN safety alerts.

What do you mean? It's Chicago. Nothing unexpected to see here. They're all good boys. Top of their class. Heading to Harvard/Yale/Princeton next fall to study History or STEM. Are you implying this behavior is somehow not indicative of a positive inner city culture you BIGOT?!?!

No one wants to accept uncomfortable truths. If you can't admit the problem you have no hope of solving the problem. The city is devolving no doubt, but then again almost every T1 city is doing the same.

I think the only T1 cities that are doing well are DC (on the up) and Boston (stable-ish). Otherwise it's a downward trend (SF, LA, Philly). Seattle and Portland just suck to live in and are becoming alt left cesspools. NYC seems stable-ish for now, not sure where that goes LT. Lot of stuff there in decline but it's still got the NYC center of gravity

Guess some ones in the southern half of US are doing fairly well but I genuinely could not stand the summer heat living there (Dallas, Miami, Houston, Phoenix).
