Ordinarily I would not be opposed to using connections (I did!) to get interviews etc. But in London this type of networking doesn't work. HR pretty much runs recruitment so you won't be gaining any advantage. Best to just go about the process as normal.
That's bs, nepotism is very much present especially in OP's case where we're talking about unstructured processes. Tons of Mayfair boutiques recruiting exclusively family friends (not talking about EBs which have a structured process).
I was referring to BBs and EBs and BS banks. No one cares about family offices, no one would willingly choose to go there over a proper bank.
