AMEX Summer Finance Intern

Hey guys,

Anyone have any experience working at American Express, or going through their internships?

I'm trying to get a feel for what it will be like. Also, do you think this is a good company to work for, in terms of salary and promotion opportunities?

Thanks.

Second this: any ideas about AMEX vs., say, commercial banking?

"When I was young I thought that money was the most important thing in life; now that I am old I know that it is." - Oscar Wilde "Seriously, psychology is for those with two x chromosomes." - RagnarDanneskjold

Like many others, I'm debating whether to go straight to a F500 or Big4 first - So, I'm just trying to gauge this with specific companies (ones that recruit in my school...)

So far, I like Amex commercials more than anyone else's, lol. Kidding aside, I understand that they have a fairly relaxed culture - that's very appealing to me. But I definitely don't want to be an analyst for the next 10 years...

Also, from what I understand, their business operates through four main units: U.S. Card Services, International Card Services, Global Commercial Services, and Global Network & Merchant Services.

Which of these would you say would offer a skill set and experience that is the most easily "transferable"? - for exit opps.
