Any businesses that are easy to run and get money?
I just made my lawn care business official this year and so far, it's been pretty easy finding customers and getting steady money... all I really had to do was put stuff up on craigslist and hand out doorhangers. I've got >2000 doorhangers left and I don't even know if I'd be able to handle all of the customers I would get if I gave out the rest (based on how well the other hangers worked). Besides for advertising, it seems like you just have to be decent socially while giving fair prices for good work.
Have any of you guys had similar "ease" in a different type of business that you started up?

Yea I'd be curious to know what your profits / margins look like. PM if you want to keep it private. I was thinking about starting a similar business to diversify my income.
I knew a couple kids who did painting their freshman/sophomore summers - like painting the exterior of people's houses. They'd make $20-$25k for the summer, but definitely worked hard.
Really high barriers to entry....
but owning parking garages in a major city... NYC especially...
Minimal maintenance and staffing costs... pretty easy money especially come holidays and weekends.
Well I've been using my lawn equipment that my dad has (good stuff... stihl products and john deere mower) under the understanding that I will replace and buy new equipment once that stuff dies, so there wasn't any overhead for that. 2500 flyers from doorhangers.com ran me around $250 which I distribute myself. (Thinking about hiring a distribution company at $85 per 1000 flyers). I bought magnets for the truck and 6 tshirts with my company name on it which was around $200 total.
If anybody has cut lawns though, you know you make money pretty fast... around here I charge on average $25 per lawn.
So far overhead looks like this:
$250 for doorhangers $100 for somebody to design the doorhangers $200 for magnets and tshirts then chicken feed for gas/oil (gas is expensive but not compared to how much you make off of it) a lil bit of money ($30?) to register for the city/county
Didn't even have to try to go for a business loan because I had some student loan money that I didn't need coming in.
This money could be earned back within a week with enough customers... I don't have enough for that yet, I wasn't trying to say that I'm making a killing but considering the time I put into it, I think I'm doing pretty good. I don't have one of those humongous mowers yet either cause I have enough time to use a smaller one for now, so I'm lucky my dad has some good stuff that he lets me use. So the initial overhead is already payed off and now the only expenses I have is the gas to run the equipment and to get there.
And Scharqmanegger, I'm doin the work... I have a lot of time this summer and I've been doin this stuff for 10 years so why not? ha
edit: almost lost a stihl leaf blower yesterday! my god I was feeling like shit... would have cost me $200 to replace right before I go to tech fest at hart plaza ($70 for the weekend). But one of the neighbors at the houses I do held onto it for me... DON'T do that lol
I know some people who did the cash for gold thing and made a FORTUNE these last two years. Also good is the general light contracting work: there's always someone out there who doesn't want to work on their house.
My goal is to own a bar at some point: On nights where I walk away with $400 in CASH, the bar owner realizes after tax profits of $3,500+........we're literally talking one good day doing something I love doing. Average pull is about half of that, but even the worst numbers yield $200K - $300K PROFIT every year. In ten years, I cash out my finance chips and go into the restaurant/bar business again, but this time as an owner.
