What Obama hasn't done.
1) He hasn't fixed illegal immigration. There are 6 million illegals in the US and they reduce employment numbers for US citizens (and other legal immigrants). 2) He hasn't fixed our long term fiscal apocalypse. - Medicare has no cost control (wasn't that a big selling point of ACA?). - SS is still fucked as is. 3) He hasn't helped growing portions of our economy (specifically the O&G sector). A major provider of middle class jobs.
Things he has done that I liked: 1) Auto bailout. Could have been handled better - but the result was decent for the amount spent. 2) Economy didn't collapse into a depression (function of TARP, so I guess that is more Bush). Or perhaps function of Fed Policy (MBS buys, interest rate). 3) Got Osama. 4) Some parts of the ACA. 5) Did we get out of Iraq? Afghanistan? I can never remember. If we got out of those shitholes it's a good thing.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Obama apologize to Karzai over an accidental burning of the koran while karzai never apologized for the killing of two U.S. soldiers? And isn't this the same president who has made numerous speeches throughout the world in an attempt to make the muslims like us more?
I agree that the GOP goes overboard when they call Obama a socialist (he's very liberal but not a socialist in the strict sense) or accuse him of being an anti-christian president. But the GOP's basic charge against Obama-that he's an extremely liberal pro-government president-remains a very valid concern.
