End of the rotation program - What's next?

I know I'm looking too far ahead since I just started my rotational, but I have a question about what everyone else is planning to do after his/her FDP/FLDP/similar programs.

Assuming that I want to move out of the company after the program, when should I start applying/searching for other opportunities? How does the timing work? I am not sure if preparing for the grad school with only 2 years of experience is a good idea, so I want to get more experience under my belt after the program and before the grad school.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
