Global Transaction Banking
Hey all,
Struck out on all IB and AM roles this summer but landed a role in GTB. Any idea on what I will actually be doing and what life is like in this role?
Also what are my exit opps? Long term I would like to work at a HF, is still doable?
Thanks
My friends in this role at Citi. He hates it and said the work was boring. By networking, you could land a role in Corporate Banking. Exit opportunities are tough from GTB. However, I heard the pay is decent and it could be a good long-term career with decent work-life balance.
Friend did it at Citi last summer also. Told me that work is boring but its their number 1 revenue generator. People were cool and work life balance is on point. Taking this as it comes and going into it with an open mind. Beats my other choice. Thanks for the input.
What you do depends on whether you are in treasury management or trade services. Both have limited natural exit opportunities.
