How Do People Get Internships At Like Morgan Stanley After First Year?

Here is someone who got sick internships after 1st year, and doesn't come from a quote on quote well-connected, wealthy family. Don't usually people get those pedestal brand name firm internships after 3rd year when the firm comes on campus and actually recruits.

First, it's quote unquote.

Second, the internship was in wealth management. There are over 350+ private wealth advisors across 80+ Morgan Stanley offices nationally. From a simple numbers perspective, getting one of these internships is more common than a front-office, revenue generating position. Generally, sophomores fill these roles and use the brand name as a stepping stone to something else junior year.
