London Strips Uber License
It was announced today that Uber's license to operate in London, England has been revoked. Uber's operations show a "lack of corporate responsibility" according to London's transport regulators - referring to the company's recent scandals based on sexism and bullying. Read more about it here.
The license is supposed to be terminated on September 30, but Uber has decided to appeal the decision. However, London mayor Sadiq Khan seems to continuously be concerned about the safety and security of Uber users in London.
- Do you think London terminating Uber's license makes sense? Do you think the safety of Londoners is actually threatened by Uber or is this just another excuse to protect taxi drivers?
- My city (a major suburb of Toronto) also banned Uber last year, and it came back pretty quickly through a pilot program, which makes me believe Uber will be successful in their appeal. What do you monkeys expect the final outcome will be?
