I already checked that out; doesn't give any detail on the starting salaries - it doesn't say how long they've been at the company.
I'm guessing as its in NYC it couldn't be less than 45k all in?
I know it's $42-45k with an average of about $15-20k in commission. Can anyone confirm?
Recruitment Consultant at Michael Page (culture, $ etc.) (Originally Posted: 12/18/2013)
I am considering becoming a recruitment consultant (aka glorified salesman) at this well known firm. Its supposed to be a tough grind during the week (11 hour days) but also good money and fun culture.
Anybody have any experience with this place/the industry in general? I like the idea of commission; is the $ really that good?
Some background on myself I'm a senior in college and am not looking for a "career" type of position - I get bored easily and would like to make money and have fun for now (and possibly start a business later).
My cousin works for them. To tell you the truth that don't expect the money could be as good as banking. And the hour is pretty bad too. BTW my cousin had 5 years experience on both sell side and buy side before she went to Michael Page, so I'd expect the hour&comp to be even worse for entry level.
Just personal experience.
Yeah I kinda figured that it wouldn't be as good as IB, but I don't work hard unless its on commission so I think it suits me better. Wow, sounds like your cousin has had an interesting career. If you don't mind me asking, what made her move towards this after what sounds like a good run in finance?
She simply hates the work at her firm. No motivation for life and she didn't enjoy, then she found both her skillset and personality fit more in the work at Michael Page/Robert Waters etc. It's all about do what you like i guesss
