Need advice on Operational Risk in Reinsurance
Got called down for an interview for a fulltime role in operational risk at Swiss Re in about a week's time. I have a few questions regarding the role that I'm hoping someone here would be kind enough to shed some light on.
Job description was generic, stating that the job involves ensuring compliance of the internal processes to guidelines or frameworks, maintaining of dashboards etc. I understand the general idea of operational risk, but what does it involve in a Reinsurance company, and how does it differ from other FIs such as banks?
Is this role related to finance at all, or does it just involve pure operations of an MNC?
I have another interview lined up for a role in investment performance in a mid sized investment management firm. Assuming that I do get offers from both companies, which role would be better in terms of career progression/opportunities and salary(long term)?
Thank you.
