Networking help- prime brokerage

I'm relatively new to the whole networking thing so I'd like some opinions. Currently I'm interning at a BB this summer in prime brokerage middle office( sales, client services, clearing). I actually really enjoy it, as I enjoy the client focus and the relative securtity of the position. However like everyone else I'd like to move to to a FO role within the division i.e. securities lending. And even though I'm just an intern I can already get a sense of how difficult making the transition from MO to FO will be.

Over the winter I went to a superday for a top MM S&T rotational internship . One of the people I met was the head of prime brokerage. I remember the guy really well, at the time he seemed really nice. My question to you guys is whether or not I can reach out to this guy who probably has no recollection of me. I don't want to come across as creepy but I do genuinely want to continue in this direction.
