Path to running own fund

Hi All,

Just wanted to see everyones opinions on this route to starting a fund.

-3 years in equity research -> 1 year pwm -> taking contacts from pwm and other people to get money for fund......-> Being own boss and enjoying what i do-> year 5+ -> :)

Goal would be running about a $20m fund... I already have pledges of $4million based on people I know and because of my past trading success.

No expert here, but I do have the same goal. I wouldn't want to go into PWM after ER. I would also find someone to run the fund with. I thought that you would get a good amount of contact when u work in ER?

^^^That.

And I'd find somebody for sales instead of doing both yourself. Others may disagree...

thanks for the responses. stw: do you mean track record in pwm or with my own personal account the last 5 years? Just curious. I would clearly want to bring success and happiness to all my own investors.
