Silicon Valley Bank Junior Internship Exit Opportunities

WSO Community,

I need some career advice and would love any kind of feedback I can get. I'm a junior Biology major at a target school, yet I only started applying to IB jobs and networking last Fall. I know I want to go into IB after I graduate, yet I wasn't able to secure an offer in the industry for an internship this coming summer. I came close (including a superday final round with GS) but ultimately fell short. Coming from a non-traditional science background has been my biggest knock, and I was told I would need some finance experience if I wanted to secure a full time offer.

I was recently extended an offer from Silicon Valley Bank, working in their commercial banking business. I am very excited about the opportunity, but I'm not sure how this might look to full time recruiters. I will most likely be performing market analysis, writing due diligence reports, and evaluating loan packages, but I'm not sure how relevant that will be to an IB firm. Should I be looking for IB opportunities or make the most of this? Thank you all so much in advance, any help would be extremely appreciated!
