Why Operations/Compliance/Middle Office? Interview Question

I'm actively looking for job. I have an interview scheduled this week, in Operations category. I am interested just because I feel that checking accuracy of data is fun. I know that I have few idea in this field since I just graduated. I'm wondering whether anyone here working on Operations/Compliance could share some of your experience and give me some advice on how to answer some question like why you are interested in Operations?
The team is called Global Markets & Global Banking Compliance Regulatory Inquires Team. Hope that gives a better idea of what I'm talking about.
