3i Group
Curious to here a bit of an update on the 3i team in the US. I know they invest off their balance sheet rather than raising traditional funds but would love to hear opinions on the U.S. team and any of the deals they do. How is Culture, Comp, etc.
Interning with them soon, but in EU/UK. If I don't forget, I'll ask around regarding comp/culture at the US team (though I doubt they'll have substantive insights). Based on second-hand info for the EU/UK: base salary is similar to other UMM PEs, bonus and carry structure complicated/intransparent, as no classical funds; apparently lower total comp than comparable PEs in recent years, due to limited deal flow. However, the Action investment is still carrying stock to ATHs and generating strong cash inflows. Would also love more insights tho.
