So I am 9 months into my 2 year analyst program at a well regarded MM bank in a non-NYC office (think Piper or Stifel) and I need some words of wisdom.
I am getting absolutely crushed, 3-4 am is a regular occurrence and weekends are a distant memory. I have gotten good deal exposure and am on 7 engaged deals. As much as I love staying up all night making charts and aligning things in PowerPoint, I want to start planning my transition into PE.
Curious as to your thoughts on how to make the move. I'm open to different cities but would love to make it up to NYC. Doesn't have to be a megafund (doubtful I would get in coming from a MM and not in NYC), just want to get some good buyside experience. I have been contacted by a few headhunters and have just recently started to update my resume.
