Alpine Investors - Update/Comp/Progression
Saw Alpine’s continued to grow/raise larger funds and seems to have strong returns. Curious if anyone knows details on how comp scales with what seems like much faster title progression at Alpine vs a traditional MM/UMM/MF firm?
Bump
Steer clear. Below market comp and toxic elements to the culture - particularly from the more junior partners. If you look on LinkedIn, you’ll find high churn at the analyst/associate level
What makes the culture bad? Graham Weaver seems great (or at least his public persona does) so I’m surprised to hear culture is toxic.
He’s not involved in the day to day (focuses on fundraising mainly). The firm’s seen a lot of headcount growth in the last couple years and imo culture diluted. Managers are more self-interested and career development for junior professionals took a backseat. Career planning is dishonest and departures are handled unprofessionally, etc etc.
I was told by someone who works there that the pay was above what he was offered for As1 at KKR
